How VouchScore reviews work

Who can write a review

Anyone with a genuine experience with a company can sign in and write a review. Positive, neutral and negative experiences are all welcome. Businesses may invite their customers, but they must not offer rewards for positive reviews or invite only happy customers.

Moderation

Every new review starts as pending. Moderators check it for spam, abuse and conflicts of interest before it's published. Reviews are never removed because they're negative.

How ratings are calculated

A company's rating is the average of its published reviews on a 1-to-5 scale. Some profiles also include client testimonials the business supplied, and those are labeled on the profile. Ratings from other review sites are never mixed into VouchScore ratings.

Business responses

Verified owners can claim their profile for free and post one public response to each published review.

Ownership disclosures

When VouchScore shares ownership with a listed company, we say so on that company's profile. Those companies get the same moderation and ranking rules as everyone else.

Tips for evaluating a business

• Read recent reviews as well as the average score.
• Look at how the business responds to criticism.
• Check that the official website matches the one on the profile.
• Be cautious when every review is short and five stars.
• Compare a few companies in the same category.
